Bigger Than You Think

A desktop tool that renders short science videos and publishes them to its operator's own social accounts.

What it does

Bigger Than You Think produces short vertical videos about scale — the centre of the Earth, the distance to the Moon, the inside of an atom. The operator writes the script, generates the visuals, and assembles the finished cut on their own machine, then reviews it before anything is published.

When a video is approved, the tool uploads it to the operator's own social accounts so the videos do not have to be posted by hand.

The visuals are AI-generated. Every post the tool publishes is declared as AI-generated content through the platform's own disclosure field — is_aigc on TikTok, is_ai_generated on Instagram. The narration script and the figures quoted in it are written and checked by the operator.

How the TikTok integration works

  1. The operator authorizes the tool once, against their own TikTok account.
  2. The tool reads that account's current posting options, interaction settings and duration limit.
  3. The operator confirms the privacy level and disclosure settings on a posting screen.
  4. The finished video is uploaded and published to that same account.
  5. Publishing status is polled until TikTok reports the post complete.

The only permissions requested are the ones those steps need: video.publish to publish the operator's videos, and user.info.basic to read the account's posting options and confirm the right account is connected first.

Scope

Bigger Than You Think is single-user software. It is not sold, licensed, or offered as a service, and has no sign-up. It has one operator, publishes only to accounts that operator owns, and never reads or processes anyone else's data.
